For his last film "Mooz-Lum," director Qasim Basir managed to garner huge interest in the poetic story about a young Muslim man struggling to fit in with society and in his latest drama, "A Boy. A Girl. A Dream," he tells the story of a young midwesterner and a club promoter meeting on the night of the 2016 U.S. presidential election.

The film explores politics, stereotypes and race, subjects Basir relates to and last night, Samuel Goldwyn Films hosted a Los Angeles premiere for the movie at Arclight Hollywood, Calif.

After the screening, film and television director Anthony Hemingway ("Underground") hosted a Q&A, where the cast Meagan Good, Dijon Talton, Antonique Smith, Brytni Sarpy and Kris D. Lofton along with producer Datari Turner and Basir alongside writer Samantha Tanner and cinematographer Steven Holleran shared insights on the making of the film.

Special guests included singer Ricky Bell (New Edition) actor Boris Kodjoe ("Code Black"/CBS), Adrienne Bailon ("The Real"), recording artist Israel Houghton, Estelle, Miss Diddy, Jimmy Jean-Louis ("Claws"/TNT), Amin Joseph ("Snowfall"/FX), Gary Dourdan, Joy Bryant
("Ballers"/HBO), Keith Robinson ("Saints & Sinners"/Bounce TV), and actor  Dorion Renaud ("In the Cut"/Bounce TV).
