The police said it had asked for the assistance of Interpol for the arrest of the South African-based masterminds of the killings.

The decision was reached after preliminary investigations showed that the attack was caused by business disagreement between two drug lords living abroad.

While Interpol would carry out the international aspect of the arrest, the NPF would see to the arrest of the local collaborators and perpetrators of the attack.

The Anambra State Commissioner of Police had earlier told DAILYPOST that some of the suspects had been arrested.

The INTERPOL I- 24 /7 system is located at the National Central Bureau at the Force headquarters, Abuja.

Confirming that Interpol would be involved in the matter, the Force Public Relations Officer, Jimoh Moshood, told Punch that the police had already sought its assistance to fast-track the arrest of the suspects living outside the country.

He said, “We are exploring all avenues to ensure that all the perpetrators and masterminds of the killings are arrested and brought to justice .
