With a cast led by Jada Pinkett Smith and Queen Latifah, "Girls Trip,"  the new comedy from director/producer Malcolm D. Lee ("The Best Man" franchise) recently screened at the Essence Festival.

The comedy, which also stars Regina Hall and Tiffany Haddish, follows four lifelong friends as they travel to New Orleans for the annual Essence Festival and co-stars an array of talented supporting cast including Larenz Tate, Kofi Siriboe, Mike Colter and Afro-British actress Deborah Ayorinde.

Shot on location during the Essence Festival’s annual weekend of fun in New Orleans, Hall plays Ryan Pierce, a successful author at the crossroads in her marriage; Haddish is the hotheaded, free-spirited and fiercely loyal Dina, Pinkett Smith is Lisa Cooper, a conservative nurse and mother of two children who desperately needs a weekend getaway and Latifah rounds off the main cast as Sasha Franklin, a gossip blogger.
