Global megastar Dwayne Johnson will headline the star studded action adventure “Rampage.”

Directed by Brad Peyton, Johnson will play primatologist Davis Okoye. Head of an anti-poaching unit out of Rwanda, he is a man who keeps people at a distance, but shares an unshakable bond with an extraordinarily intelligent, silverback gorilla who has been in his care since birth.  After a genetic experiment gone wrong mutates this gentle ape into a raging creature of enormous size, George, as he is called and other similarly altered animals tear across North America, destroying everything in their path and Okoye's mission becomes to halt a global catastrophe but to save the fearsome creature that was once his friend.

“Rampage” also stars Oscar nominee Naomie Harris (“Moonlight”) as well as P.J. Byrne (“The Wolf of Wall Street”).

Based on the video game Rampage, it marks the third collaboration between Johnson, Peyton following the action drama “San Andreas.” Johnson also doubles as co-executive producer on the film which opens in theaters beginning April 20, 2018.
